    Hi,

I just got a text to say the above with a wedsite that I should log onto.
I’m abroad right now and worried.
Is it a scam? Do you text customers?

It's a scam in all likelihood. Don't click the link. Go to the website (type the address in yourself) and try to log in.

The website is www.boirenewonline.com (i typed it here not copy and paste)

I typed it in as you suggested and it looks like the bank 365 but I don’t want to put my details in.

Did you check if your account is locked? Yes/No
Why would BOI send you a text if it was not locked?
Why would they use a website completely different to their homepage?

I tried to open my account on my app and it did but I didn’t try and do any transactions.
Second question- that’s why I’m checking on this thread because on the home page it said check boards or twitter or email which can take up to 3 days. I’m not on twitter so here was the place to ask.
So it’s a scam. Are you a bank official?
I’m nervous because I’m abroad and it’s late and I don’t want to have no access to funds now of all times.

    It's 100% a scam. I am not a bank official.

I meant type in the actual BOI website instead of clicking on the link - that link is a scam anyway, don't put any details into it.

Not a doubt in the world its a scam.

Never ever ever ever follow a link in a text message.

That goes for banks, an post (pay customs charge scam), supermarket or other retailer competitions, "free" games (for one day then they take €20+ a week)

They are all designed to con you.

Thanks for getting in touch with us here today.

Please be advised that bank of Ireland will never send any email or text messages with links to log into your account. We would never ask for you to disclose your password in full. Can we ask that you delete the text and ensure that you have not clicked on any links.

    I hope this helps.
