1,000 to buy stocks where please

Complete newbie. From reading here, Degiro seems to be spoken off a lot. So I'm thinking of opening account with them. I have 1,000 in cash, prob not a lot but all in willing to buy stocks with. Would love some advice as to what stocks I should buy. Also, would appreciate no smart ass replies please

I dont think you'll find too many peoploe actually giving financial advice on here, just basically saying what they are doing

from my perspective, I just use TD Ameritrade, so cant comment on Degiro

In terms of what to buy, its very volatile at the moment

Probably not the best time to be buying at these prices, I'm certainly setting orders well below current market prices to pick up on some shares that were overpriced for a while but in good companies
