I am due my nct on friday morning for a 04 VW Polo. But now the check engine light has come on and the car is stuttering with no power.

How do i take off this light until I get it through NCT? I know there is gonna be a few other bits need done to it so would prefer to get NCT report back before visiting mechanic.

    Thanks

Coil pack most likely, don't be putting huge amounts into it either way ....

Best to get a scan done and see what the error codes are. If it's running badly it's likely the light will come straight back on if the code is cleared.

Coil pack is most likely, but could also be a HT lead or plug. I'm assuming it's petrol.

If car is petrol then the light itself is not a reason for a fail.

No but the car is running on low power and very lumpy hence why I say most likely coil pack....

Common on them like the focus and so on....

Diesel as you know won't pass with it on.

If you can't figure out what the issue is, put it through anyway and get a free checkup ;)
