    Hi all,

With regard the new €203 payment, if an employer puts someone on reduced hours, and pays them for example €300 per week net pay, would they actually have to pay the employee €503 in this instance?

Or would they be able to claim back €203 of the €300, which doesnt make sense really

Just trying to figure out how people on reduced hours would be treated

AFAIK or understand they can claim social welfare for the days they are not working and that payment is pro-rata i.e. if they are reduced to 2 days per week they would get 203*(3/5) = 121.80.

That's assuming that when you reduce their hours you also reduce their days, as even if they only work a few hours per day once they are working they cannot claim social welfare.
