Buying flights from third parties on Skyscanner - Safe?

Mr Lemon and I are thinking about going to Helsinki in late August.

We looked directly on the Finnair website and return flights for the two of us were well over €1000, but if we go onto Skyscanner you can buy flights directly from Finnair for the same price or from a third party for just over €600.

Is there a catch? Would the same EU rights still apply in the event of a cancellation, etc?

Some of those third party sites are notorious for quoting fares that don't exist. When you try to book it you might find it suddenly goes up.

If you see a fare you like, check the actual seller out on Tripadvisor and/or TrustPilot.

You are bot buying from skyscanner but the website you are redirected to.

In the current climate, I'd not be booking flights through a 3rd party. Makes things a lot more awkward if you need to go looking for refunds or changes due to cancellation.

Set a price alert too, those flights will go down.
