I did an nct end Feb it failed on something cant remember atm anyway got it sorted and got a pre nct test as needed to go back to get ramp test done. Went back to centre for retest last Friday and failed again on one thing cv boot said I can go back anytime or day. Went to garage and guy said to come back Monday only take 20 mins I'm hoping it's no charge and I can go straight down to centre to pass it. I dont want to fork out more on it

Not unless he advised the boot was damaged but told you it did not need to be replaced for NCT.
My guess is it was fine at the original precheck and got damaged before it failed the NCT.
