    Hi,

Ive currently had sky q installed. Ive cancelled it to finish the end of the month. is it possible to use an old Sky hd box from another house to watch free to air english channels? if so, how do i do it. I connected the box yesterday and it just said no signal. thanks

The dish LNB used for sky Q is different to the normal one so the old HD box wont work. Even if it did work the Sky HD box without a sub would drive you nuts from an ease of use point of view.
If you are able to safely access the dish, replacing the LNB is a simple DIY job. Alternately there is a new FreeSat branded box coming which I believe (open to correction) can use the newer Sky Q type LNBs.

You need a UK FTV card to reset your SKY HD box so that you get the UK EPG with BBC1 on channel 101.

The simplest way to use it without driving you insane is to use the favourites menu instead of the standard epg.

This will put 50 channels that you can watch into a usable format.
