NCT question (not about lifts!)

My NCT expires 27 May and as it's 37 years old and new to me, I was thinking to get it tested late March/early April to leave plenty of time to fix any issues.

Hopefully there will be nothing major as it passed about 5,000 miles ago with no advisories but I'm worried there may be underbody rust etc since then or something similar (I'll be going to Northpoint they seem to have lifts - last mention of them!).

So my question is, if it fails, say on 30 March, do I still have a valid NCT till 27 May?

I could not find the answer to this on the NCT site. Thanks!
