“The practice is unable to take on new patients”

I got this answer from 8 Doctors offices I called today and 2 where I walked in.

How can people get their health checked if there is no one to check their health.

They say don’t go to A&E but to go to your doctor. You try and get a doctor but you can’t make an appointment.

    How can this be possible?

    you don,t have a doctor,
saying go to your doctor means nothing .
Alot of doctors are retiring and not being replaced,
doctors are only supposed to take on x amount of clients .
Go to a and e around 1 or 2pm, my experience is someone will see you in 30-60 minutes, because everyone seems to go to a and e after 6pm, or during the night .Its possible because not all doctors want to take on new patients .
We are losing doctors every month , through retirement .
It takes 4 plus years to train a doctor.

    Walk in clinic and pay.

Or, if you have a medical or gp card you can be automatically allocated a new doctor if you try some other practices and provide the names of 3 who have refused you.

Its not the doctors or the practice fault, it's the health system.

    Waiting lists are crazy atm.
