Global Radio (UK) stations disappeared from tunein ?

Tune in support on Twitter said it was at the request of the broadcaster.

While I can listen to stations via the Global app on a phone, anyone know of a workaround for smart speakers (that get the feed from tunein).

Listen to Heart 80s, Heart 90s and Smooth as they have a better playlist than irish stations...v disappointed.

Not sure about smart speakers but I know I can get the stations on TuneIn on my phone by using a UK VPN service. If you cast from the phone to the speaker using that I wonder if it would work?

I use the Global app on my phone, no problem there. No idea of or how you try and trick a smart speaker by using a UK VPN

Open the direct stream for the station on your mobile device in Chrome. Select the three dots, press the cast button. A list of devices on your network should pop up. You can then cast to your TV, smart speakers etc. I'm using Google devices, not sure about Alexa. Works perfect - not bypassing ang geo restrictions or using any VPN.

No idea if you can get a good home to use a VPN...

On my phone is not a problem as the globalapp still works, it's just google home can only use tunein to pull radio streams.

Used TuneIn for years - but ditched it for the much much better vradio app on android.

No need for VPN, just cast from your phone to Google Home.

Are you using an Alexa? There's a GlobalPlayer skill available for playing Capital, Heart, etc.

Thanks lads, am using a Google home.

Never thought of casting from the global app on my phone to smart speaker, not quite as easy but doable.

    Thanks
