The current road works being carried out on N11 and into Wicklow?

    Hi All,

    I notice there is on going work in the centre of the N11 road from around Kilmanogue area into the M50... It appears to be widening or extra lane?

    Does anyone have any details on what these road works are actually doing?

    Would be great to have an extra lane on each side of the roads coming into the M50 and going to Greystones...

    I bet you can't wait to sit in traffic in that lane too. It will make a wonderful change

    they need a car pooling and bus lane, no point in adding another general traffic lane...

    It's an auxiliary lane leading into the junction at Kilmac, to reduce conflicts at the junction itself (where traffic coming out of the service station often pull straight back onto the mainline).

    They're segregating the access to the houses/businesses along that stretch of road that causes bottlenecks because the limit drops to 60 there. Personally I think it will have little to no impact compared to the Bray/Greystones exits. Complete waste of money & effort given the N11/M11 upgrade project design phase is already well underway but sure that's how this great little country operates!

    So you'd welcome converting one of the lanes to a bus lane ? Tolling ? Investment in Public Transport?

    The changes they're making now will be a drop in the ocean. By the time it's finished there'll be more completed housing developments in Bray and Greystones and further south so any savings will be immediately conceded. The only solution to the N11/M11 issues are to make the rail options along that corridor more viable, but good luck seeing that in our lifetimes.
