Hi, thinking of picking up a pair of these speakers to go with a Rega Planar 1 and Marantz PM5005 amp. Would these go well together? What size cables would be needed for a general set up? Thanks, Darragh

    Hi Darragh.

The Wharfedale 220 would go well with the PM5005. They are 5 star reviewed in What HiFi.

Currently priced at £99 with £6.99 shipping.

For speaker cable you could use the Symphony 200 priced at £1.79 per meter (I could offer at £1.25 per meter with the speakers).

If you wanted to move to a Silver based cable the Ultra Micro is a great one to go for priced at £3.19 per meter (I could offer at £2.50 per meter with the speakers).

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks

    Kenny.

Thanks for getting back to me Kenny. What's the difference between the cables? Happy to go with your recommendation.

    Hi Undercover.

The difference would be that the Symphony 200 is copper based and the Ultra Micro is Silver based.

A silver based cable will give a different sound to the copper as it has less resistance.

Grand, will go with the silver so. A couple of metres should suffice. Happy to proceed with purchase if you can arrange.

    Ta :)
