Paid maternity leave issue

I am looking to take on a new senior staff member. I am confent to agree with her request for a paid maternity benefit of 6 months for any future child she may have. However I am unsure how I can implement this from the point of view that I cannot afford to offer all female employees this and I expect I may have to offer to all employees if I offer to one. Can anybody offer any advice? I am thinking perhaps the benefit could only apply at certain seniority levels or after a certain period of service. Or maybe confidentiality clause in her contract if offering only applies to her? I do not want to break any employment laws of course either

Be careful of precedent, you need a policy in place to prove why she got it and not others. Length of service, seniority level whatever you decide but have it in writing.
