WC not working

Hi all. A bit of a problem with downstairs wc. The water level in the toilet sits at a very low level. When you flush the toilet the water rises to the top before going back down again and there is gurgling at the sink at the same time. I used a liquid drain unblocker overnight in case of a blockage but that did not do anything. Any ideas what might be the problem. Tia.

You've got a blockage in the drain leading to the main sewer line. Some chimney rods down it will push the problem on, you'll need to access the drains outside your house.

Should be a handy (but dirty) job for someone once access to your drains are easy to get to. No need to spend big money on getting the job done if it's just a matter of pushing toilet roll and the likes through the pipes. Once you hear the loud gush of the main sewers then you know you're grand.

Flush out the drains then with a few buckets of water or power hose and flush all loo's afterwards.
