After the final 6 months of free Spotify ends, I'll downgrade my CDC card to the free one. I'll keep using it for foreign travel, it's still my only credit card with no FX fees. It's also handy for spending crypto without having to go back through my bank. My day-to-day spending is better off on a different card with better rewards though.

Has anyone used the Nexo card yet? I can't get it where I am, but I'd look into it next time I'm in Ireland if they have no fx fees, along with some rewards.

Just following up on this and my migration away from crypto.com. I've been using my plutus card since November and also decided to take the "everyday" sub at €4.99 as the extra perk made it worth the charge.

On the crypto cashback front, in 2 months of using the card I've earned 12.34 PLU which works out to about €100.

I cashed out my CDC in July and rolled that into PLU, and today I crossed the 250 line so I'm now getting 4% cashback and 4 perks, currently covering my Netflix, Spotify, Just eat and €10 back at Lidl.

Now the app is poor, account management needs to be done on a pc or via android browser in desktop mode.

The DEX is terrible, you can't exchange directly from ETH to PLU and vice versa. You need to sell ETH to fiat and then buy PLU with that FIAT.

I'd also say that actual liquidity on the Plutus DEX is terrible. I have had buy orders sit on the DEX for 3 days waiting for an order match. Even small orders can affect price. I'd compare that to buying PLU on Kucoin where order matching was quite quick.

To buy ETH or PLU via FIAT, you deposit cash to the "current account" and use that to fund your exchange buy.

To fund your card, you either top up your current account with cash, or sell PLU or ETH and select card as your payment destination.

Transferring money from current account to card? Can take days! Usually it goes through within a couple of hours but be warned that it is often longer.

Coming from CDC, where deposits and transfers were near instant? Well it takes some getting used to and takes the shine off the service.

I'm happy enough with the service as I was aware of the limitations and am confident that it will get better as they go.

The roadmap is public and there is a growing user base. The staking changes and other changes coming are actually well explained and telegraphed to users.

It could very well all go the way of CDC regarding price collapse of the coin and service. I'm not going to claim they have a killer product or that it will only get better.

What I will say? Is that versus my experience of CDC, Coinbase and Binance cards,it's highest cashback and it seems to be working on consolidating that.

If they could lift the UI/UX from Coinbase or CDC? It would be a massive improvement.

Transfer from my Revolut to Plutus current account today after their upgrade only took a few mins... now to see if there's any improvement on the transfer to card account

The new Modulr account does seem to Sepa instant compatible. Very handy.

That said, I made 2 instant Sepa transfers yesterday to the new account, they landed instantly but after transferring to the card, they still haven't arrived 36hrs and counting.

52 hrs now and the internal transfer from Plutus current account to card still hasn't completed. It will probably Monday at this stage due to the way they seem to process internal transfer.

It is improving all the time and the roadmap does point towards near instant internal transfers soon.

    Edit

Now at 76hrs and still not showing as available to card balance. I reckon there is a manual reconciliation involved so no money until tmrw.

took 5 days to transfer from Plutus Current account to card account

That's maddening isn't it. Mine was 94hrs from plutus current AC to the card. Instant SEPA is great but it's ultimately useless if the AC -> card transaction is taking days.

Oh good! only 17 hours to transfer from current to card account yesterday on plutus - that's encouraging

I feel your pain, hopefully once the cards migrate to Modulr too, the issue will disappear. I had 2 transfers over the last weekend take 96hrs plus. 1 for €100 as supposedly the smaller amounts are processed via a different account queue and 1 for €300. Both made on Friday morning, 1 completed Monday morning the other on Wednesday.

I do take solace in its being an acknowledged problem with a fix incoming. In the interim, I have been enjoying that 4% cashback and 4 perks and have totalled up that since Nov, I've received over 45PLU back in rewards. It softens the blow of the slow transfers.

I assume everyone got burned by theses, hence zero recent engagement with this thread?

This whole forum is almost dead. I don't think anyone here is being "burned" by debit cards.

Anyone here use the Ledger card? https://withcl.com/

I’m still using my Plutus card, transfers to it are instant now from banks like Revolut. The main downside is that it’s still slow to take out the Plutus that you get in rewards.

Happily still using plutus for the cashback... 100 PLU now and counting...

Transfers are now instantaneous to and from my Revolut

Pretty much cleared out my CDC after they lowered the rewards

Have Nexo virtual as well, but haven't used it much at all for day to day, using it for the daily crypto rewards at the Gold tier. I did use it for the last 4k of a car loan last year after it finished its 3 year 0% APR term, with Nexo i think i paid 2.9% for about 8 months and then cleared it... Happy out

Still on Plutus too. I'm at the 5% cashback level and 5 perks too. I'm happy enough now, but the initial introduction of the virtual card did leave me without the ability to spend in person as it wouldn't work via Curve. That's resolved now and it's back to being my main spending card.

Yeah I'm the same. 5% is a great job

They are changing the rules slightly next year so you'll need to redeem PLU to get the higher cashback limits. There'll be extra perks too though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 541 ✭✭✭td2008

Extra perks available from today (depending on plan)

    https://dex.plutus.it/dashboard/perks/current

Thanks for the heads up, I get an extra 2 per month now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 177 ✭✭Daithi40

Yep, increased mine to a premium plan and then added another €1000 to reward limit for 10 PLU for 12 months... I'm happy 😊

The calculator is pretty handy, apparently will be worth €700+ pa while i work towards 250 PLU for more benefits/ perks

Oh... yep i use it with Curve as well, which increased to 6 retailers a few days ago, so that i earn 1% in Curve points... another little bonus... and i can confirm that i pay for spotify using Curve to Plutus, so i get the curve points and the plutus perk

I've been staking at veteran level since I switched over to Plutus from CDC. The changes in price plan and more particularly how they've been communicated has stuck in my craw a little. That said, there's still currently no better card available IMO.

As I was already staking I got the €1000 per month increase on eligible spending and will likely stick with the everyday sub for the foreseeable.
