Metallic Rubbing Sound from Brakes

    Hi,

After 8 days without driving a ford focus 2004 there was a metallic rubbing sound coming from the front driver side this morning. When breaking the sound is louder. Didn't drive it too much but after a few hundred metres of driving without braking the sound seems less.

Brakes were fine before the period of inactivity 8 days ago with no indication of anything amiss.

Any ideas as to what may be up ?

Sounds like rust build up, drive another few 100m and it should clear!

The weather was wet and windy alright and I live less than 1km from the West Coast

The discs are ferrous and rust fast, all that prevents the rust is continued driving.

Your pads well clear it quite quickly.

Yes. After just a little bit of normal driving (about 10km) sound is almost gone now. Thanks
