Penalty points

    Hi guys

Had three points put on my licence on 2 August 2017. Assumed they’d be up 2 August 2020, so I emailed the NDLS, only for them to say they’re valid until 2 January 2021! That’s 3 years and 5 months. Before I ring them, has anyone been in this position before, is there any particular reason for it?

Was the offence on that date? If so, that would explain the 5 months before the points were actually applied.

Nope. Clearly states that the points were applied on the 2nd August.

Did your licence lapse for any period of time in the intervening years? The penalty points are 'paused' until a licence is renewed.

Nope. Clearly states that the points were applied on the 2nd August.

I'd be going back to ask them why they'll be on longer than the three years then
