    Hi Kenny,

Following on from my recent Philips Oled TV & 4K Player upgrade from you, I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my old Yamaha RX-V667 to something a bit more in keeping with the kit I now have.

I was reading a post from someone else who upgraded their RX-V667 with a Denon.

    In particular I'm considering

    Denon AVR-X 2600H
    Sony STR-DN1080

    Or a slight upgrade to
    Denon AVR-X 3600H

Any thoughts on the above or should I be looking at something else?.
Speakers are currently Monitor Bronze 2,  5.1. But they will possibly also be upgraded in the near future ;)

    Thanks

    Hey Eoin Kavanagh 64.

Thanks for coming back to us again.

The AVRX2600 is one of our most popular AV receivers and is very good. Currently priced at £425. I could offer one at £399

The Sony 1080 is also a very close 2nd. Priced at £429. I could offer at £405.

Upgrading to the 3600, I could offer one at £680.

There is currently a good deal on the Yamaha RXA680 which is currently priced at £499 or 549 Euro. The Euro price on this would be the better deal.

    Hi Kenny,

Sorry about the delay in my response.

I've been doing a bit of research over the weekend and come to the conclusion it's really the following on my short list.

    Denon AVR-X3600H
Denon AVR-X4500H (Prefer this over 3600 but there might be better value later in the year when the 4600 comes out)

    Yamaha RXA1080

    Arcam AVR390 (Clearance offer)

I'm really struggling as they are all very capable. Any further insights to offer?.

Whats the best you could do on the Denon 4500 in Euro?.

    Thanks

    Hey Eoin Kavanagh 64.

There is no straight forward answer as each of those amp are different in there own ways.

In my opinion the AVR390 would sound the best out of them all and with £500 off the clearance unit down to £999 is a monster of a deal. However its a bit more stripped back compared to the others and can take time to setup correctly. (Arcam recommend a professional install on these).

The AVRX4500 at the current 1039 Euro would be the best I could offer as its already far cheaper than the £1099 sterling retail and does away with any further discount I could have offered on it.

There has been no word if there will be a 4600 by Denon as of yet as far as I know.
They skipped it last year and just keep the 4500 running.
