Not related to Navan but I’m hoping someone can help me, even though I’m not giving the best information but here goes.

There was a race run before Christmas where the second up to the fifth or sixth placed all went on and won in their next couple of starts. I thought this race was run at Fairyhouse at the December Festival but I’ve just gone back through the results for both days and the race I’m thinking of wasn’t run either day. I can’t think of any of the horses names but I know the race was brought up on the forum after one of the horses bolted in on its next start.

Can anyone help? This time of year, knowing what form of horses is tying in with others is very helpful info.

    Backing Tiger today
    Feck the drift
    Not getting burnt again!

Trainer Gordon Elliott is keen to point out, however, that the setback which has delayed Tiger Roll's return this season will make it hard for him to repeat his surprise win in this race 12 months ago.

"He's nowhere near as fit as he was last year, and this is a starting point for him," said Elliott.

"He's only back cantering since the first day of this year, whereas last year he was going all season.

"He will come on from the run - he's not as fit as last year - but I hope I'm wrong. It's a stepping stone back to the National."

It's also a far better race than last year.

2.15 Kempton, Clog Maker, around 5/6, backed it to win.

1.50 Navan, Kilfenora, around 2/1 or a little bigger. Just can't see it winning today at all. 100% lay bet and my best bet of the day. It might get a place at best but won't be winning.

    Lovely run by Tiger Roll.

3.25 Kempton, Entangling, around 9/4 and lay bet for me, can't see it winning. The horse is not bad but the last run it had was all over the place and wouldn't suit as a prep towards a win. Maybe a good run today might put it ready for next time out but for today I get the feeling they will be happy with getting a good run into it.

3.30 Navan, Beating The Odds, not liking the horse at all. I don't think it will be placed never mind winning. Laying 4 places at around 11/8.

That's me done for the day.

Late bet on the USA for me. In the 8.11 @ Tampa, Corcoran is around 11/10'ish but it's lay bet for me. Hopefully something can get it beat and make it 5 winners from 5 on the day.

Your "tip" was a minute after the advertised start time. You were banned previously for this. This time it's a month, next time will be permanent
