Can I ask for a Garda harassment order to be served to someone if I have been sent an insulting and threatening email from that person? Received two derogatory emails from an individual whom I know and considering what to do?

Or does there have to be a series of intimidation factors involved?

A Garda harassment order isn't a real thing so no

in the circumstances you outlined I don't believe that harassment would be the offence committed if any . it would need to be more persistent than two incident sent to a private e mail address

I suspect that the advice the gardai would give you is to block the e mail address and ignore it
