    ...fire risk!

Hundreds of Opel Insignia cars across the country have been recalled due to a potential fire risk.

The voluntary recall, issued by Leeson Motors Limited, affects 386 vehicles in the Republic of Ireland which were manufactured between July 2016 and November 2018.

The issue relates to vehicles' fuel hose, which the company says may become damaged when in contact with a support bracket.

It says that as a result, fuel may leak out, giving rise to a risk of fire.

The company says it will directly contact all affected customers, advising them to make an appointment with their local Opel dealer where any necessary repairs will be carried out.

Drivers who believe their vehicle may be impacted can contact Opel at 01 533 9818.

At least they’re actually recalling this one.
They stuck their head in the sand for years on the old model Zafira heater fires and Insignia power steering fires despite overwhelming evidence.

I guess PSA take it more seriously than GM did.

GM were very good with sticking there heads in the sand regarding recalls, I remember Vectra (C) both mk1 and Mk2 had issues with the handbrakes. They put a advisory warning on the drivers sun-visor in the mk2 to park the car in gear!!!

My mams 2013 Insignias fuel hose was in contact with support bracket (vibrating against it continously), another 3 or 4 weeks and it would've eventually made a hole in it.

Luckily we noticed it and got it sorted

It's a good thing they were not a big seller otherwise they would have had to recall more of them. :p
