I had my dpf replaced but the warning light is still coming on just two days after a brand new dpf filter was installed. is this common?

    No.

Hopefully the original problem was correctly diagnosed.

    Did they recode it?

    Bring it back.

What make and model of car is it?

Peugeot and Citroen in particular are very fussy when it comes to recoding or remapping in relation to dpf's.

Was the light off when you picked it up?

    Did you ring the garage?
Not sure what advice you are looking for other then to bring it back to them?

Bring it straight back to the garage that fitted the new dpf anyways. Be sure to clarify that they have the correct software for carrying out diagnostics, coding and remapping of Peugeot and Citroen vehicles quite a few mechanics don't.

I wonder if the pressure differential sensor hose is blocked with soot, or not connected.

Most garage obd scanners will be able to read this pressure sensor to make sure it works.
