Thinking of buying a 2012 Grand Megane Dynamique 1.5DCi. My budget is €6000, yay or nay? Test drove one today and liked it. Any opinions?

How are they on the reliability front ? The timing was done 10000km ago. Electrics, whats likely to go wrong ?

They’re well above average for the class.

Whats the difference between a grand megane and a megane estate dynamique 1.5??

As far as I know a Megane Grand Tourer and a Grand Megane are different names for the same thing. They were launched here as the Grand Megane anyway.

The later (current) model estate is called the Megane Sport Tourer.

    They’re all basically estates.

Dynamique is a trim level on Renaults (mid level)

Grand car. I own a 2010 since 2012 bought with 30,000k on the clocm now have 204,000 and still running fine.

Always serviced every 25k or 12 months, timing belt every 5/6 years or 120-150k... could be a bit long mine was done in 2016 @ 140k won't be doing it again for another 18 months.

Only issue I have was my fault. No cruise control because it's poverty spec!!. Always like the GT line (2 door version)

Good choice, bought a 2020 just over 2yrs ago and love it, plenty of room in the back, wife loves driving it.
Had timing belt done last week, cost me 420 which included belt, pump, fan belt and air filter.
MPG has gone down a touch over the last month so will have to figure out why, maybe the cold as my garage said.

There is 1 issue we had which you may wanna watch out for, in both front footwells you have a secret compartment on floor, after we'd had the car a few months my wife said she could hear sloshing when cornering, i thought she was making it up as couldn't hear a thing.
Sure enough a week later i hear it, have a look in those compartments and they're half full of water.

The Megane has a known issue with the sills at bottom of front windscreen clogging up with leaves and other shite, causes a lot of water issues if not dealt with, and when i say dealt with i took it back to garage bought it from, they did it in 30mins, took it apart, cleaned crap out and put air hose through it.
