Complaints from approx 50 homes of disruption to Saorview terrestrial TV reception in the Ballingeary area of west Co. Cork attributed to a recently operational controversial windfarm in the locality, which is in the path of the TV transmitter (Mullaghanish) from those affected.
This type of disruption can come-and-go depending on the swivel of the wind turbines (depending on wind direction)

Ballingeary used to have a UHF relay on high ground to the south of the town. Presumably the mast height increase at Mullaghanish negated the need for this.

It was used also by mobile phone operators when active so is likely still in situ and could be reactivated.

Some further coverage of the Ballingeary wind turbine Saorview interference issue this week on Tuesday's 'County' supplement of Irish examiner:

A proposal by the company to install SaorSAT for those affected is not considered satisfactory, mainly because it doesn't provide the Virgin Media television channels.
Also looking at the possible installation of a 'reflector' for the area with 2rn.
The problem is disproportionately moreso affecting elderly people, and now made worse by the Coronavirus restrictions.
