Is there a specific licence or permit needed.in order to demolish your home?

Is it even illegal assuming you own the land!

I know when I lived in the states

We had an exclusion zone of 100m, what is the safe zone here?

Why do you want to use explosives? All sorts of complications. A dwelling will be demolished in a matter of hours with mechanical plant.

    In a shipping container

    ...explosives..in a shipping container...

I wonder how many laws you broke in doing that?

The shipping company would be delighted to have customers like you - did you read their T & C's?

No idea how easy/legal it is in USA to buy/acquire explosives, but things are a bit different on this side of the pond.

"Those explosives are for personal use Guard..!" "Ah, grand so..." NOT!

LOL!.....is this a wind up...? Funny if it is...!

You do know you are posting on a public forum about having explosives even if you are taking the piss which you probably are ... i would be expecting a little visit from the authorities just to make sure you are a troll and not an actual arms smuggler.

You need PP to demolish a habitable dwelling.

You need a licence to possess and use most explosives (not certain fireworks suitable for use indoors). Your licenced explosives contractor would then liaise with the Garda and the council about their use.

Most demolition contractors would strongly advise against demolition of individual houses with explosives. There was a case in the UK about 20 years ago where they were demolished a block of flats with explosives. They used a 300-metre exclusion zone. Even still someone was killed when hit by a piece of mud the size of a fridge.

    Not necessarily.

    Choices:
    * Drill holes in the building (takes time) and pack them with explosives. Series of small bangs. House demolished. Use a JCB to fill skips.
    * Don't bother drilling holes in the building. Use loads of expensive explosives. One big bang. House mostly demolished. Remove section of your roof from the neighbours kitchen. Use a JCB to clear the rest and fill skips.
    * Use a JCB only. Finished in a few hours.
