    Hi all,

I'm my holidays from Dublin to Drogheda this Saturday for one night only

Looking for a couple of suggestions on where to watch the rugby? Somewhere for dinner? And somewhere to have a few pints after dinner - anywhere with an aul band on?

Just the two of us. Staying in the D Hotel so somewhere not miles away would be ideal!!

Finally is there anything nearby / on the way back to Dublin to do or see on the Sunday?

Any / all suggestions welcome (apart from don't go!) :D Thanks!!

You dont say what age you are or the type of food/music that you like?

I'm in my late 40s. If it was me,

Head to The Mariner for the rugby - go over the bridge opposite the shopping centre beside the D. It on the left after you cross the bridge. It is bar for sports and pints.

Grub - I'd go the Aisha's. 10 minutes walk from the D up the quays. BYOB and you will pass a O'Briens off-licence on the way. Smashing food but book!

Pubs - The likes of the Westcourt (Woodrows), Odd Mollies may have live music. The pub in the D Hotel probably also has a band. Cagneys is a grand spot and will have a DJ. If you want a later pint, The Cross is open until after 2am and has an alternative DJ. Think Stone Roses, FooFighters, Manic Street Preachers etc. Wide range of ages up to my age group and a little older.

If you are from out of town, I'd recommend a pint in Clarke's pub on Peter Street. A listed real olde type bar, wood alcoves etc. It will get busy later as it is tight but its a lovely old spot and I've been going in on/off since I was 17!

    Enjoy.

Been meaning to try the Cross since it opened and still haven't made it. I believe the burgers are top class?

+1 for the Mariner for the rugby (or maybe Gleesons?).
    +1 for Clarke's.

All sound like good suggestions thank you!! Should have mentioned we are in our 30s food wise Italian / pub grub nothing over the top.

Will definitely check out some of the places mentioned.

Then Il Forno on West Street is a nice Italian and a short walk from the D Hotel.
