I've seen people say in the thread for the 2020 series that it has kind of run its course now and that it has become too manipulative. What do you all think?

Should RTE replace OT with The Biggest Loser Ireland or a new weight loss show? 26 votes

I don't think it should be running any of those shows. They're about crash diets and sob stories. They don't care about them longer term

The first series or two were fine.
Now however all the exercise plans, diets, etc are there.
I don't find there's anything new really apart from a few tears and giving out to.

It's a little like a crash diet as well.I remember a few years ago they had a melt down because a woman had a drink at the races.

    Is this the one?

I can't fully remember to be honest. I just remember it was all over the top mainly to make good tv.

Also, the show needs a new presenter instead of shouting Kathryn!

It seems to have decentralised from Dublin this year. They moved the show to Offaly and there are no contestants from Dublin this series.

I can't find the first 5 series anywhere online.

I think it is a bit of a pity that OT hasn't really taken off outside Ireland. There was a Belgian edition called "Let's Get fit" but it only lasted one series.
