    Hi everyone.

My wife and I are flying to Cancun at the start of April for a two week holiday. I'm trying to find flights now. I'm using Skyscaner but I'm wondering if there is anyone on this forum who has recent experience of flying this route and if so, do you have any advice to offer on the best flight options?

I have seen a similar question asked in here in an earlier post but it was several years ago so I thought I'd ask again to get more current information.

    Have done it twice.

First time via Chicago (you can go via any US Hub though).

Second time, Dublin-Gatwick-Cancun and same back

Remember if you're going with American Airlines (maybe others too) the ticket is probably €100 higher than advertised on Skyscanner because of baggage charges. I got stung going to Cancun mistakingly assuming a transatlantic flight on a legacy airline would include a bag. Also make sure you have a hotel transfer lined up-the taxis are a mafia.
There might be cheap seat-only options available ex-UK from package companies but that could be more hassle than its worth...

You will also need an ESTA or visa if transiting in the US.
