Tyre wear

I have a 2003 VW Transporter T4 which is wearing tyres unevenly.
Both front tyres are the same, wearing on both the inside and outside and the middle of both tyres are grand.
For the doe in August it got 1 track rod end and one tie rod in the front, the mechanic told me it shouldn't need tracking as he set up the new parts identically to the old ones.
When I checked the tyre pressure this both tyres had 25psi in them and they should have 40.
Dunno what to do now should I get it tracked or not.
I have it years and it has never done this before.
Edit, steering wheel is dead straight and handles as normal.

Seems to me wear on the shoulders but not the middle is the classic sign of under-inflated tyres. Might have been like that for some time until you checked and found the 25psi rather than 40.

If your tyre wear is like picture 2 in this link https://www.knowyourparts.com/technical-resources/info/understanding-tire-wear/ then it's possibly just due to under inflation.

If your tyres are worn enough to need replacing I'd get tracking checked at the same time and ensure they're inflated to the correct pressure to get maximum life out of your tyres.

If the tyres don't need replacing yet, inflate them to the correct pressure and check the pressure regularly. I'd usually check mine weekly.
