Hi,

I am looking for a small family car (petrol), up to a few years old, and I would like to hear your opinion and experiences with different makes and models in this category.

From what I could see on the streets, Ford Focus seems to be quite popular, as well as VW Golf. But there is more to chose from, like Opel Astra, Peugeot 308, Renault Megane, Hyundai i30, Nissan Pulsar, ...

Petrol Focus are not popular at all. Ford only started pushing them recently.
