CV/REsumes these days.

Luckily in many ways I havent written a CV for over 10 years, but the time to move on is here and I am struggling to write a new CV. Not the content , I have plenty of that....but more so the current format.

I have read copies of CV's from friends and family and they vary wildly in format. I also go through CV's as part of my current job and again the format varies hugely. Online resources seem to vary as well.

What is seen as best practise for a CV these days?

Is 1 page enough, should I be aiming for 1 page. How far back should I go in previous roles. Should I include a summary?

    Any advice appareciated.

    Name
    Contact details
Work experience in descending order, with the name of the company, dates worked, role, and the things you accomplished
    Education in descending order

Can be more than 1 page, but jobs which are pointless or too old can just be one liners.

    Also write a cover letter.
