If a liability is gone to the Sheriff and is paid directly to Revenue via ROS by a taxpayer - Can the Sheriff still get his full poundage based costs even though the liability not collected by him?
Do Revenue ever cancel warrants where a taxpayer pays directly to them?

Give the sheriff a call. The ones I have spoken to are generally very reasonable and easy to deal with

If the liability has gone to the sheriff it should have been paid to the sheriff. They are the ones dealing now with everything. The liability is going to have the liability due to Revenue, penalties and interest due for late payment AND the sheriff costs. The sheriff, if you present proof of payment of the first item, will continue chasing you for the rest of the liability (interest and penalties for Revenue and their own costs).

Talk with them about the situation and the payments that have been to avoid further issues with that warrant.

I have had a few occusations where Revenue estimated tax liabilities and it has gone to the sherif.

We have rung up the sherif and informed them it was a nil return and that we would file the nil return that day and send proof. In these occusation they have been happy and not looked for their fee.
