Mortgage approval documentation

I applied for a mortgage with BOI just before Xmas and was told to request approval for 3.5 x income, which has recently been approved. I was told at the time that I would most likely qualify for an exemption on this (to borrow ca 4.8 x income), but that I should wait until after Xmas for this. I am viewing a house this weekend, which requires an exemption (ca 4.25 x income). I need to bring documentation with me to the viewing stating that I have approval in principle / sufficient funding. I have made multiple requests from the person dealing with my application in BoI for this documentation (been asking since Thursday via email and SMS), and have received no response. I do not know if this is a simple request that can be acted on quickly, or if I need to submit another mortgage application. Communication with BoI has been very difficult. Can you please advise? At this point I don't know whether I should bother getting a bank draft for the booking deposit (it's a new house) as I may or may not have the necessary paperwork.
