An investigation into the international money laundering of criminal assets worth around £215 million (€252m) has taken place in Northern Ireland.

The operation by officers from the PSNI's Economic Crime Unit took place over the past two days.

Fifteen properties were searched across Northern Ireland.

I wonder what particular organisation this was targeted at...........

These raids should be carried out daily the amount of criminality going on.

    Dissident republicans or loyalists?

Why is the assumption that if happened in Northern Ireland it must some how be related to republican or loyalists.

We see criminal activity all over the Republic of Ireland, do we jump to the same conclusions?

To me it doesnt matter who is money laundering, republican, loyalist, the catholic church, drug dealers, whoever.
Its a criminal enterprise so why don't we simply call them criminals, which is exactly what they are.

Some criminals are good republicans, other criminals are former good republicans. Few other criminals have much money to launder.

BBC reporting that it's not thought to be paramilitary linked.

Perhaps related to people trafficking and the fallout from the container tradgedy in Dover?

As always, the news mentioned an international aspect (hence Euro-InterPol or whatever they're called). Think the BBC also mentioned human trafficking as one of many aspects to it.
