Hi all, we've been told by tiger creche that in order to sign up to them, we have to pay slightly over 1000 per month, and also - despite the fact we were hoping to sign up from January 2021, they said the child has to be signed up from September 2020. We feel she'll be too young at that stage but we dont really have options elsewhere. So we'll be paying over a 1000 per month between september and december to keep her a spot there for January. Is that normal? First time parents, baby is due in April 2020.

in order to sign up to them, we have to pay slightly over 1000 per month,

is this a deposit to secure the place or the monthly fee? For a thousand a month it would be normal as the monthly fee. Deposits can vary on different centres and provdiers. Some charge a deposit that can be used for the last month, some a refundable deposit, some a booking fee

Im not to up on who operates in that area but I do know Links (of prime time fame) are opening a new centre out there if it hasnt already opened.

It's a monthly fee unfortunately. So she'll be enrolled but we probably won't be leaving her in because my wife will be off work and available to look after the baby. But they didn't want to hear about a Jan 2021 start. Good to know 1000 per month is the standard fee. I'll have to research about Links, I didnt know they were opening. Tiger had good recommendations but it's hard to get a confirmation from them unless we subscribe to these conditions and even then, I haven't heard back since before Christmas.

I think Tigers are trying to expand very quickly and have heard that they have taken on funding of several million euros from investors so i,d say they are trying to bump the bank balance up to make things look good. best of luck with teh search

Maybe they are slow to confirm a place for us because they are going through a planning phase and have no real answers then. We've been chasing for about 6 weeks. At the beginning they said they had space and it wouldn't be a problem so long as we start September. That was 2 months ago. Since then, they've responded to emails but with nothing concrete. "We'll confirm in the New Year". "The manager is away at the moment". "Manager is back on Friday we'll confirm then". Friday comes and goes without any confirmation. I phone, no answer. Very strange. I'm hoping no news is good news because it's not in their interest to string me along. No where else seems available either near us or work.

Someone else just recommended the same to us actually. Any thoughts on this? You know, since the problems in 2013? Part of me feels like the company which has been disciplined is better than the companies who weren't? They have to work harder and invest more to get their brand back.

New crèche, the facilities will be good I guess. My concern with them always was their high turnover staff. They are careful to comply or at least appear to with regulations. Large number of Spanish staff who are AMAZING with kids.
You can PM me any questions you have anyway.

Spanish would be great, my wife is from south america so we're going to try raise the kid with both Spanish and English. Thanks for your advice.
