So need to try get someone in interested in farm work? Ideally it would be a full time thing but that’s open to change if needs be!

Problem is where is the best place to advertise for such? We are trying the word of mouth to some success but it’s been near imposible to find anyone...

What type of farm work is it?

Off the top of my head - Farmers Journal, Jobs.ie or your local Jobpath/Dept of social welfare office.
I think you need to sit down and decide if you want a part time or full time employee. It wouldn't be fair to offer a full time job and then decide to reduce it to part time at a whim, iykwim.

I buy it every week. So do most farmers I know. Shop stocks a lot of them (at least 50 id say) on a Thursday so they must be selling.

    Havent bought it in months
Started to think it was sunny side out press with most stories having an angle. Matt Dempesy influence seems to be disappearing. I feel it has become jobs for the boys your a made man when you get job there simular to teagasc (i understand there are a minority of good people in both)
Also found price index at back for sheep was always much lower than what was available.
The cattle and inputs were up and down rarely correct.
However i do respect what they done in tullamore. Most of it was a failure but at least they told us it was. It up to people to take what they want themselves from it themselves.

Factories themselves quote the sheep prices for the journal and these are used by producer groups as a base price and the individual group bonuses are on top of that,If you don't understand that you could be misled.
I usually tell farmers to add 20 - 25c for the sheep price index.
It's better to read Darren Carthy who does an article called sheep trends every week where he gives a good account of trade, he phones farmers on a tuesday for prices.
Same with his article on Beef Trends. I've no interest in Beef so don't know how accurate the beef price index but again it consists of quotes from the factories not the actual prices paid.
Difference between teagasc and farmers journal is that if IFJ don't do their job well they go out of business
They're supposed to be reaching 263000 readers now so won't be going out of business anytime soon
