I am trying to find how to pressurise a firebird combi oil burner. It is at .2. I bled my rads and my gauge is low. This is an old fire bird. And old central heating system. Where do i find my filling loop? I cant seem to find flex hose or values.

    Thank you.

Check the attic, are you sure its a closed loop system?

The loop is typically either in the attic or hot-press.

If its an open, vented system then there should be a smaller cold water storage tank feeding the heating system, this may have a valve on it.

    Hi,

Thanks for reply. I am clueless as to whether is is closed or open. I cannot find either hose in attic or hot press. There is a cold water feed behind the washing machine and a hot water value nearly. There is a small red cylinder beside the firebird. But i cannot see flex hose near pressure gauge.

It could be the black valve thats built into the pressure gauge in your pic, but its kinda hard to tell from the pic and without knowing where the pipe into the gauge is coming from and where its going to!

When the system is cold I would open the black valve until the gauge shows 1bar of pressure and then see what the boiler says..
