I can’t get a flight booked after three different devices and 2 different browsers.

Won’t accept my card on two devices and won’t allow me to add travel insurance on another device.

    Help desk can’t resolve it.

    Are these issues common?

First of all issues like this can be common enough across the web. For a company that takes all of their purchases online, I doubt it's their website specifically. It's probably something to do with the other variables down the line.

Try again on a browser but before doing so, clear the cache and cookies and enter them in an incognito browser.
Make sure you are putting all your card details in correctly. I swear, that's one of the biggest problems. Human error.
Double and tripple check your card details are correct.
Make sure you aren't using auto-fill/stored details that might be incorrect.

I'd take a bet this is human error as opposed to the website.

Compared with many other Airline sites, Aer Lingus site is easy, have never had an issue with theirs... ok we won’t go into Aer Club,,, but on the whole I find it simple to use.

I know one could think that but I’ve double and triple checked. Their help desk now appears to be blanking me. I think I’ll just rage book it with ryanair.

This most certainly isn’t my fault.

That image tells us absolutely nothing and certainly isn't evidence for it not being human error.
    • We don't know the steps you took.
    • What browser you are using
    • What device you are using
    • What network you are connected to (is it a secure employer's network, your phone network or are you at home)

Try using a desktop device if you have one, not a phone. Connect to a local network such as home broadband as apposed to say a work network that the network admin might have certain restrictions in place for security purposes.

Are you using a VPN? If so, turn it off.

I had issues with it last week when using browser saved card details. Once I entered everything manually it worked fine. The app wouldn't work at all, I was getting the same message as yourself. In general, compared to my use of the Ryanair app or site, Are Lingus was pretty buggy and didn't provide a good user experience

The app goes wrong when I try to add travel insurance as seen in my screenshot. The other methods go wrong at the payment stage. The payment stage might be going wrong because the website can’t interpret it’s own encryption of the card number with the first 12 card digits replaced automatically by *********** but can’t be sure.

    Try without travel insurance.
Then buy it separately from aerlingus or from other ins companies.

That worked through the app. So it was Aer Lingus at fault by offering a service their website/app can’t support.
