Scam calls from my own mobile

I have just checked my phone bill and looks like I have called this number 0855
over 20 times in the last month. I called my provider and was told it was probably a scam but my calls are included in my bundle so they cannot get anything. Very concerned what do I do?

The 5 after the 085 indicates it's a voicemail you are calling.

Dialing that number would just get you straight through to the voicemail of 085

    .

And the vast majority of people have the basic 0000 passcode on their voicemail so it’s easy to “hack” from any other number (as the UK press liked to put it when getting celeb messages)

Provider said its a foreign number but does look like calling voice mail, just find it hard to believe they cannot do anything about it or advise me on it.

Looks like someone either trying to hack your voicemail trying different passcodes, or someone, possibly someone you know, actually accessing your voicemail using the default passcode if you haven't changed it.

Normally you'd access your voicemail from your own mobile by dialling 171, and only use the method of inserting a '5' after the 08x part if you wanted to access your voicemail from another mobile phone or landline.

Mod-I've removed the number op. You really don't want the AH weirdos having your number.

If they were hacking my voicemail it would be my phone number but its not.

Flipin hell :mad: I have just figured it out I signed up to new provider 6 months ago but I kept the packet from the sim and just checked it and its that number ... but I transferred my old number.

You think Eir would have known this when I called.
