Hi All, thanks for all your help so far.

I have just received my PSC with the Free Travel on it plus spouse.

Just a few basic questions that those who know or use the free travel may know.

On the Bus & Luas, do I just show it to the driver/inspector ?

The Dart, do I need to get a ticket from the ticket office.

The train, as far as I know, I do have to get a ticket at the ticket office, is that correct ??

If I use it to travel to Belfast, is there anything extra I need to do ??

As my PSC Free travel has spouse on it, does she just have to show photo ID or does she need anything else.

    Thanks in advance.

On buses you either show or tap the card, dublin bus for eg you tap on. in othercities you may also have to tap the card or put i on a scanner like a leap card for a few seconds.
For most train services you need to get a ticket using your pass.
Your spouse doesnt have to show id, most train tickets you get are one way.
For travel to the north im not sure how it works.
For the luas ou tap on and off as with a leap card and when they ticket check you simply show your card.

Thanks wifey28. I take it the tap on and tap off of the one card (mine) covers my wife also ?.

Anyone know about the Cross Border Train ??

You need to get a ticket from the bus driver for your spouse with the companion pass.

You can get the train to Belfas no problem, you can also apply for a Northern Ireland travel pass at your local Intreo which will allow you free travel in Northern Ireland too, just be warned though if you get the Northern Ireland travel pass and subsequently dont use it they will not renew it again for you.

You will need to bring POA nad a passport photo to apply for the NI travel pass

...just wanted to add that the NI Senior Smart Pass only covers the pensioner (you) and not your wife.
