My nextbase 112 plugged in to cig lighter stopped working. The part that plugs in says a fuse can be replaced but i cannot tell if it is blown.it is just clear like https://www.webstaurantstore.com/meiko-0145047-2-amp-fuse/HP0145047.html but nothing inside
    ??

The fuse in my car says the cig lighter is powered by fuse f29 15 amp and also f51 15 amp. Why are there two. There was a band aid plaster in it so i think it may have blown the fuse but why two reference to it in the fuse list

Plug another device into the 'cig lighter' to see if the problem is with this outlet or with the nextbase

Your car manual will tell you which fuse is linked to the 12v outlet. Maybe you have more than one 'cig lighter; in your car.

I cant see what a plaster would accomplish in a fuse box.

First. Get a phone charger and plug it into cig lighter. Does phone charge? If yes, you have isolated the fault to dashcam cable and dashcam.

If no, check the fuse in the car fusebox.

    OR

Plug dashcam into another car cig lighter. If it doesnt work, its confirmed to be the cable/cam

Your photo shows an inline fuse. If it appears empty, then the fuse wire inside has blown and disintegrated. Replace it.

Just an afterthought. What caused it to blow? Maybe dashcam is knackered.

    I don't

What car is it. The fuse you linked to looks like an inline fuse that's possibly in the cable itself.
A plaster wouldn't cause a fuse to blow.
Reason for two cigarette lighter fuses is your car either has another lighter in the back or a higher spec model of your car has.

Just a final thought. I looked up that dashcam and it appears old. The cable is quite old fashioned. However, I seriously wonder if 15amp is a correct fuse for it.
My newish dashcam uses 500mA - half an amp. that thing would be glowing at 15 amps
Or maybe I am completely wrong.

Edit. I just reviewed it and think that is definately wrong. Your new fuse has a higher break point than your 13amp fuse in your washing machine. No way that is right. It would be in flames long before it blew.....

    Get a second opinion.

There's an inline fuse in the charger cable so that would blow in the event of something going wrong

That fuse he replaced is in the inline cable head. It is useless if rated at 15amp.

My runaround car is a corsa and its marked 10amp max. 12v system and 10amp. A 15amp fuse is seriously useless

He didn't replace the inline one unless I misread the post.

If you google nextbase 112, you get the photos and the power supply is the old one where you unscrew the cig lighter male end and the fuse pops out.

I take it that is the inline fuse and the image they posted shows it. Unless he meant to say the 15A in his Car fusebox.

That's what I understood from his post but I'm open to correction.

No. In the car fuseboard or whatever it is called where all the fuses are

    you're right

The fusebox. That makes more sense. 15amp is the maximum value for that circuit.

Not just the dashcam. The photo you put up of the glass fuse is an inline fuse much much lower.
