Headaches

    Hi all,

I've suffered from headaches for years, but have never done anything about it. usually, I take a few Ibuprofen. If I can take an ibuprofen within the first few hours, it will kill the pain pretty quickly. But if I don't the pain persists for days.

It is a very dull pain directly behind my right eye - same place all the time. On average, I get it once a month, but sometimes more frequently. What has changed in the last few months, is that the pain radiates to my template, and sometimes behind my ear.

I'm not looking for medical advice, but would people recommend I see my GP, and if so is there anything they can really do? Has any one had similar headaches, and if so, what has been the outcome?

    Thank you
    Asitis

Yes, I would recommend a visit to GP, you may or may not be referred for an MRI, but given you've had these for a number of years, sounds more like migraine which the GP may prescribe something other than what you are currently taking.

I was a migraine sufferer for years. They eventually got worse and more frequent. Got an MRI which eventually got to the bottom of it and ruled out anything majorly sinister.....

The MRI itself is nothing to be afraid of, only lasts a couple of minutes but there is nothing to be apprehensive about, when the scan begins its quite loud but you are given ear plugs so it’s nothing to be freaked out about.

Agree totally. When I got a resurgence of migraines , asked my GP and found the meds that kill the attacks dead instantly.

No need to suffer and also stress will exacerbate headaches; I no longer fear attacks as I can sort them quickly now
