    Geoff Yasmine story is upsetting

Well at least she has video evidence on her phone of his shenanigans now...

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,300 ✭✭✭✭casio4

What was happening with the camera angles tonight? It was as though they were experimenting with a new way of filming. When Steve and Tracy were entering the hotel room, we only saw their feet. When Gary and Daniel were chatting in this warehouse we saw a lot of their interaction through a mirror. Steve and Tracy chatting with the split screen. Then we saw Gary and Faye chatting on the street and our view was through the shop window.

Lord, I need to get a life. :D

yeah the camera angles were mad tonight, I think I missed something that was said between Gary and Daniel in the warehouse why was Gary trying to give Daniel the giraffes? was it some reference to the measles and giraffes having spots or am I just over thinking this?

Does Geoff still have the hidden camera in the house? and if so how come Yasmine hasn't found it yet with all the cleaning she's doing

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,060 ✭✭✭Jikashi

I quite liked some of the creative camera angles they did tonight, mixed things up as a little experiment.
    • The sweeping 360 shots and false oners done during the magic act
    • The shot through the wall with Steve and Tracey
    • Steve in the bathroom, Yasmeen in the dressing room, Daniel in the shop, and Gary in the street all had strange mirror shots
    • Going into first person view when getting the camera in Yasmeen's face (wonder did that actually record and will come up later)

Maybe warming up for some more artistic flair for the 10,000th episode soon.

As I have pointed out before they could be hidden as anything.

I remember something about him getting new smoke alarms fitted they could be hidden in those.

I'm not up to speed with Corrie - used to be an avid fan. I know that Ches and Gemma have quads. I was reading on Digital Spy that filming is a bit chaotic with all the babies on set.

I wonder if they will regret that storyline.
Or will the quads be put away conveniently like most kids on soaps...until they track down four child actors to appear every now and then. :D

    Bloody hell.

    https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/breaking-alison-king-breaks-silence-21423244

Much ado about nothing it seems.

I noticed the mirror didn't include the picture in that original article.

God I'm so glad I'm not famous. Having every little gesture recorded and analyzed, and speculated over.

The first article sounds like they were really going at it.

I liked the way it was filmed. in particular the creepy way it went dark for a second when the camera was moving past Geoff and the magic box. A little like in the Hitchcock film "Rope" that was filmed entirely in one take but sometimes when someone would pass the camera the screen would go black as it was those moments where the roll of film was changed. There was an ominous atmosphere throughout a lot of the episodes tonight. I thought it was disturbing but riveting.

Watch the video, she's blind drunk so gives the game away. He leans in to say something and and she kisses him on the lips. She's hanging onto him like she's his wife.

Must have been an affair on set.

I have to fast fwd past the Geoff bits. Yes, the actor is good, and it might help people be aware of the fact that those gaslighting-belittling- control situations exist (I hope). It's going on too long for me.

Its going on too long for me too.

Im a meek and quiet guy but if i found out someone i knew was doing something like that to a female i knew, I wouldn't be responsible for my actions. And it wouldn't be pretty.

I would love an hour with Kate Ford in a hotel room, i'd kiss her all over.

I hate her character. Really hate it.

    But yeah, I agree.

    But.. no I won't say.

I must say the actor who is playing Geoff is playing an absolute blinder. Well wrote storyline by the writers for a change.

Tracy: are you afraid of me Steve?
Steve: everyone is afraid of you, you killed a man!

Love it when Steve gets a great line.

I think it's one of those moments when he leaned in to say something and she leaned up at the same time and they kind of awkwardly met in the middle. I dont think it was a kiss. She was hammered and he looks like he's fairly well in control.

I'm thinking Yasmine might have had a light bulb moment last night when Emma said she was available and Geoff cancelled her - this might be the beginning of the end for Geoff

I agree he is playing the part very well - too well really :(

On the one hand, credit to the writers, its a well executed story, but maybe too well executed. Geoff is playing it very well, but it is very upsetting to watch.

I'm hoping Yasmine did get the light bulb moment and maybe confides in Aliyah. She had her doubts about Geoff from day one.

Remember when Geoff first joined the show and they teased a potential pairing between him and Audrey? I wonder if they pursued that instead would they still do the coercive control story and if so how would it differ if it were Audrey instead of Yasmeen.

Available but not routine until mid to late 80s. I was born in the 70s and didn't get the MMR as it wasn't on the schedule of vaccines

Available for purchase, not routine for babies. The writers' having Maria blame her mother for not getting her vaccinated as a baby just shows their lack of research, imo.

Dissapointed and surprised virgin media one never put a phone number to call after last nights corrie for if you are suffering abuse such as the geoff and yasmin storyline ...

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,472 ✭✭✭brooke 2

I totally agree with you. But......this isn’t what I want to be watching while having my tea after a hard days work. There’s very little love or happiness in Corrie any more. Or humour.

Geoff is such a hateful character. Yasmeen is basically a very capable person, but is being horribly manipulated by her dreadful creep of a husband.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,472 ✭✭✭brooke 2

You know I just realized he's so annoying cause he's doing a great job as an actor with the role.

I never thought I'd say this but some times you'd forget it's a TV program the way my blood boils at him

True! I feel my blood pressure rising every time Geoff appears on screen!! :D

Would fast forward through the scenes, but am hoping he will be caught out by someone soon.

He is very good at it. I wonder whether he gets much reaction out and about

I imagine he must do. Always find it hard to believe that so many people think the characters are real. Saw Geraldine Plunkett being interviewed on TV recently.
She used to play 'Mary' in 'Glenroe' many moons ago and now plays 'Rose' in 'Fair City'. Some people have come up to speak to her on the street, thinking she is Mary, back on TV, playing Rose!! :pac::pac:

I've told this story before but sure, anyway...

My aunt was a social worker in Manchester and used to get the bus from the same bus stop as Anne Kirkbride who played Deirdre Barlow. She said she regularly had loonies coming up and going "You've some neck on you. How can you do that to that nice gentleman Ken Barlow?!?!"

(This was when she was having the affair with Mike Baldwin)

Audrey is easily charmed, look at Lewis but he had charisma

Yasmeen we are to believe is strong and untrusting after Sharif

I think it was probably easier to implement it with Yasmin as Yasmin is a muslim lady and generally by their nature, they are considered as sub servant by men, and they consider themselves to be sub servant to men.

Yasmin was always a helpful and obliging person whereas Audrey was used to her independence and is probably a more fiery character. Having said that, Lewis made a hare of her and walked back into her life no problem

If Geoff called Audrey a stupid b*tch she would tell him to sod off. Yasmine is more subservient and takes it.

I’m thinking that Geoff recording Yasmeen like that is definitely going to backfire on him at some point?

yeah imagine if as he was doing it it went out live on facebook or something , that would have been good. - him saying 'damn camera work!" that must point to him being a techniphobe and not realising that it will save to the phone.
good - i hope it gets him caught. - in true corrie style it will most probably done in public, in the rovers maybe. with everyone around.

most probably be a large screen telly and people prompted to wirelessly broadcast their video's from their phones to the large telly either by mistake or on purpose from yasmin's phone to gasps of horror with the other people in the pub and seeing geoff for really what he is like and him trying to get out of it either lying saying "it was just a joke between me and yaz " or just scarpering off

Always a raincheck on what is real is when you see photos (selfies?) of the ... 'stars' on holiday in San Francisco or Disneyworld or somewhere. One day you think Tyrone or Fiz are unemployable outside Corrie, the next you see them cavorting around Dubai or posing in front of mansions in Chester. No idiots them.

Meanwhile this Geoff business is quite strange. I don't know what relationship he had with Tim or if they were long separated but I don't think you develop a controlling behaviour out of the blue. Surely Tim, though such a bland and boring character himself, would have some insight into his character? But no.
