Bit late this time, apologies. :o

No surprise here, no particular plans apart from keeping my old yoke alive, too many financial obstacles at the moment to even think about something newer.

Re. expectations - I really hope it will survive one more year. :)

    Now your turn. ;)

Continue to have no memorable journeys or any unexpected events in my Avensis.

Buy more old cars, build a very very large garage

Corsa OPC: My daily, keep it driving basically and topped up with petrol and hopefully it continues to serve me well.

106 gti: Sort the rust on the roof along the top of the windscreen, might just get a new skin for it. New back axle needed also. Then an external respray and full service and hopefully have it ready for the summer.

205 gti: Finish the clear coat on the shell, then start putting all the mechanics on it and have it rolling so it can be taken off the trolley. Might get twin Weber’s and cam it, or might put a 16v into it for big power... probably keep it original though.

I bought a Renault Captur 2014 to replace my Skoda Fabia 2011. I’m getting it next Wednesday. I wanted something a bit higher off the ground and a bit bigger. Don’t know what to expect though?

I'll be very boring in mine, just drive the Leon. It has an NCT in April but it should pass no problems. It's at the age (6 years old) that I'll get feck all in a trade-in so I'll keep it going for as long as I can. I've started to put money aside for its replacement.

I may get a yoke for some fun (Endurance Trials, Night Nav's, etc), depending on finances and motivation.

Working on the interior design of my house and getting married this year so we are just going to stick with the A6 and the golf for the year anyway, they are new enough cars to us and the golf is probably a long term keeper for the missus as she's not into cars really and although I'm a fecker for always wanting to change cars I have the cop to realise grass isn't always greener in a new car. A6 is a 141 S Line with under 80k kms on it so there's no point in changing...... Or is there??

Only 2 options if I do... A 530e phev or the newer model A6 but probably 2021 before it will happen.

Changing the truck the minute I get back. It needs new tyres and the drive selector (2 wheel/4 wheel drive) is causing issues. So its a new truck for 2020, apart from that no other plans for changing anything else at the moment.

There are always dealer incentives this time of the year too. Should save about 10-15% on the cost of the new truck.

No plans to change cars this year unless I magically come into a lot of money so will drive the Mazda for another year or two and see what happens in terms of brexit as there is nothing in ireland that I would even consider buying.

I also have a 2006 Impreza 2.0RX that I need to spend a few quid on this year as it only gets used in winter and brakes need looking at and it needs a few ARB bushes and links and I’ll probably do the TB and WP this year too.

Get back into a Saab 93 Aero or a Saab 95 Aero...

The current Ceed estate is now 3 years old, so will be replaced with a new one next month. At least this time it'll be a new model, whereas 3 years ago it was like for like. I'm looking forward to some new features in the new model, although the price has gone up by about 3k on the old model.

Get back into a Saab 93 Aero or a Saab 95 Aero...

Sold one Saab 93 last year to go electric. Selling another Saab 93 (the wife's) to get another full electric car now!

Electrics are not for everyone, but worth a look!! Loved the Saab's, but would never go back myself.

Starting a new job and have a hired jeep coming to me until a new one is sourced, essentially in negative equity with my 15 Mondeo so will keep it as well until the payments are balanced to what is owed

Lots of parts there to nail onto my Prelude. Looking forward to getting it back onto the road again after 3 years of storage.

Going to keep the Golf for the year.....

Ah no every year I completely guess wrong and always end up changing my car before the year is out. So I am going to list the 3 most likely scenarios to try maximise my chances of getting it right.

    1. I keep the Golf GTI for the full year if I do that will make it just about the longest I have ever kept a car. If this scenario occurs it will need probably two services one in about 2 months the other at the end of the year. On the second it will need a DSG service and I think they also need a differential oil change at 60k Km need to check that. But outside of that it shouldn’t need much all tyres are basically new.

    2. I sell it and buy something cheap to run and sensible ~4 year old Diesel. At the low end of the scale probably a SEAT Leon 2.0TDI at the other end 320D, A4, A5. I worked it out there would be reasonable savings to be made would be weird going back to a diesel and I never really downgraded to an older less powerful car before.

    3. I lose the run of myself and get something mad that will be expensive to buy and expensive to run think S5, 330i G20 3 series.

So wait and see I suppose anything could happen :o

Sticking with what I have until 21 I've even taxed it for the year, I'll be shot if I change again!!!

Very bland here: Was going to change the 181 Insignia but never got round to it. So, will keep it through 2020 and change for a 211 reg but possibly go for a Grandland.

After it spending so much time off the road last year between the ABS module failing and the chassis needing surgery, I've a lot of lost time to make up, so I'll be holding onto it till the end of the year at least :)!

Of course, it will be spending some time off the road as I plan on doing a light sprinkling of improvements, the following come to mind anyway:pac::
    - pressed metal number plates with hidden screws
    - detail the rear lights and headlights as they are starting to look a bit dull
    - interior detail
    - engine bay detail
    - sort out a little bit of bodywork rust
    - repaint the rear valance
    - maybe one or two preventative maintenance jobs, I've done pretty much all of them already but there's still one or two that could be done

Mind you, since I lost enough time last year it's possible none of the above might will get done :pac:!

It will be getting a new exhaust manifold and cat the next time it develops a problem and needs to go into the garage, there has been a bit of a blow from the exhaust for a while. There's also a loose boot light and a rattle from the rear parcel shelf to be dealt with but apart from that it's pretty much where it should be.

At some point I expect I will need to change the tyres, there's 21k miles on the fronts and 16k on the rears, but they've done well so far so who knows.

I've been tempted to put angel eyes to make it look more like the newer BMWs, and upgrade the audio, since the infotainment is of course hopeless by modern standards, but I want to keep it as close to original as possible, so I'm not going to bother.

    BMW e91 330d old tax.

The goal is to facelift it. I’ve new front bumper, bonnet, xenons rear bumper. All in primer. If I can afford the tax between then and now €400 every three months I’ll get it finished. It’s just been through a MAJOR service so I’m hoping no mechanical gremlins between now and then.

Normally I wouldn’t be arsed with such an old wagon but keeping it on the road feels like I’m saving one. Not many bmw estates out there with 330bhp being used as dailies.

No intent on selling yet. Would cost me too much to upgrade just for the sake of tax saved.

I might get an auld quad for divilment, one that can pull a trailer load of turf. Cars are overrated

Replace my 191 Duster with a 202 Duster.

Drive my '93 MX5 more than I have been.
    - Diagnose/fix the leak into the boot (suspect its the hardtop frankenstein latches/bolts)
    - Replace the previously removed power steering to make parking/daily driving a bit easier
    - Potentially fit some low profile headlights
    - Potentially get the alloys professionally refurbed

    Give the Golf a service.

Sold the 09 a4 just bought an 07 avensis as a run around to keep me going
It has a few small things to be done so that will keep me busy for a few days sorting that out

On the search for a new car but havent really narrowed it down as yet not quite sure what direction i will go.

And oh ya service the Peugeot 308 to keep it going another year

Think the A5 might be getting traded towards the end of the summer as I'll need to get something an 18 year old can be a named driver on. Looking forward to that obviously, possibly a Focus or Golf 1.0 litre. It'll probably get passed on to one of the sprogs in due course.

Our F30 318d can soldier on. 8 years old in April so the next will probably be the last NCT I put it through. Has been a great car in fairness.

    Not very exciting tbh!
