    Hi guys,

So i have a few golf issues at the moment
Sunroof will not open at all with switch in any direction, no noise from the motor, i have checked the fuses and all good,

also rear passenger door wont open every time after an unlock from keys.

Noticed the key would bring down the widows but not bring them back up.

Radio went bad before christmas so had to replace that.

No errors being found on torque app.

Could it be the body control module ?

    Anyhelp would be great

    D

Best thing to do would be to have it scanned by some one with a VAG-COM diagnostic scanner...otherwise, you will only be trying the "this and that" method.

Google " VAGCOM OBD SCANNER" and you will see what is available. They range from €50.00 for amateur to €3000 + for Main Dealership level. Personally, I use iCarsoft obd scanners, they cost approx. €150 , and give a good level of scanning, and are easy to use. They are limited in the sense that unlike some scanner's, they limit what changes you can make, and thereby prevent making any damaging changes to the original factory setup. For anyone who has any mechanical / technical skill's, when buying a car, buying an OBD Scanner for that make, would be a good investment, when it comes to solving problems in modern car's.

I have generic bluetooth obd port thing, and the torque app , seems very basic but has been good seeing the errors on a few cars . But for this golf issue i think i will need to get something more in depth.

Yes, there are a lot of scanners out there, some extremely basic, and some much more functional. You can buy a multi-car OBD reader for about €800, I think and it gives a good range of diagnostic's. But for a full professional level scanner, be prepared to not only spend a lot more, but also a yearly fee for manufacturers updates. That's why I go with iCarsoft for the specific car I have. It will read generic codes of other make's too, but the level is basic. One make I have heard about ( but have not used ) is "CARLY" it's an app for a mobile phone, you only have to pay for the connecting dongle to the OBD port in the car. Cost's about €50, I think. Check it out on Google.
