Not sure if this counts as a xEV.

Have to say, didn't expect much from this, maybe some small fuel savings here and there, but this is quite impressive. Especially considering it's paired with the top power petrol engine.

Granted this test route seems ideal for it with large downhill stretches. Would like to see how it fairs in city driving.

its a prius in a vw badge, itll sell like crazy.

While not the mild hybrid that you are discussing, I am very much waiting to see what the new GTE brings. I've been trying to convince myself to buy a model 3 for a year now but just not practical for me at the moment since I live in an apartment with on street parking (though my current employer has chargers available).

Battery still a bit small at 11kWh useable, will struggle to do 40-50km with that

I would like to see 17-20kWh useable become the standard for pluggins with closer to 80-100km range

Can't see why it cant be, 7 years ago the likes of Opel Ampera had 11kWh useable, battery technology has improved enough to offer double that now in a similar package

Yeah battery still a bit light alright and totally agree regarding a bigger battery. Would be ideal for me. Still some of the way on battery is still better than none of the way on battery :)
