I need to make contact about a payment - am I likely to have to wait until the second week of January or will they be working the 27th or at least after the weekend on the 30th?

I work in a government department and they're closed on the 27th but it may vary from Department to Department or certain sections may open

Even if the department is open, a lot of the staff will prob take a days annual leave to have Xmas week off

Longfords phonelines will be open tomorrow until lunchtime and again on 27th. Only closed 25th, 26th and 1st.

Yea, I surprisingly got through. Didn't think they'd be open today. It's pretty stressful not knowing when you'll see money next, especially at xmas but hopefully sorted now

Christmas Eve isn’t a public holiday so there’s no reason they’d be closed.

FWIW, Government departments will generally only be closed on public holidays. There's no shutdown period outside these days, although as mentioned, many staff, particularly those with children, will take annual leave around that time, so it can tend to be skeleton staff in place.

Yea but you can surely understand why I'd think they'd shut down or close early etc. Even the post office closed most days last week
