Job seeker payment 24th

I normally collect jobseekers benefit.... Receipt says next payment is 24th but unsure if this is correct

No you got a double week last Monday so no payment tomorrow or any day this week. The next date you can collect from the PO is 30/31 December.

I hope so. I got a double payment on the 10th but nothing since then. No regular payment on the 17th so I assumed I’d be getting my regular payment plus my ‘bonus’ today...

On the 17th you should have got a double payment either at the PO or into the bank to cover the 17th and the 24th (today) because obviously there are no payments this week.
There will be payments again the 30th/31st.
Clearly your payment has been suspended for some reason.
Was there a reason you didn’t contact SW to find out what was going on ?

Did you collect a payment late? There was no double the week of the 10th.
The Xmas bonus was the week of the 6th
And the double payment for last & this week was the week beginning 16th. So you should of got double last week,no payment this week.

The Christmas bonus was all of the week starting the 2nd December.
But If you’re submitting “dockets” for partime JSA (the OP is) then you got the Christmas bonus the week starting the 9th instead.
Then as you say the week starting the 16th was a double week as no payment this week.
If the OP presented at the PO and was told there was nothing there or saw that nothing went into the bank then clearly their payment has been suspended but it will be the 27th now before it can be sorted.

I don’t know why I was paid double on the 10th. I rang intreo when I relised I hadn’t got a payment today and they said I’d have to go into the office that my payment has been suspended.theres no reason for them to suspend my payment, I didn’t get called over for any meeting and they didn’t notify me of any cancellation which is against their terms of service so I can’t understand what happened. Christmas is hard enough without all this

I can’t understand why you didn’t contact them last Tuesday when you got nothing. Why did you wait till Christmas Eve? They don’t have to notify you of suspension of payment.
Cancellation yes, suspension no.
The very fair assumption is that when you got no payment last Tuesday that you would have contacted them immediately but you didn’t contact them at all.

Because I was paid double on the 10th I assumed it was for the 10th and 17th. The schedule of payments they listed was so confusing. I had no reason to contact them until today and actually since I’m on jobpath they are required to call me for a meeting before penalising or suspending my payment

The Christmas bonus was so well advertised and mentioned all over the media I’m staggered that you knew nothing about it.
You got yours on the 10th.
Most people on JSA can’t manage without their weekly payment so would have been straight onto SW when they didn’t get anything last week, the double week, especially with doing Christmas shopping etc... but I’m sure it will be easily sorted out on Friday.

As I said I’m on dockets not full jobseekers and I thought the 10th was for two weeks. I’ve been going through a particularly depressive episode and my income supplement was the very last thing on my mind as two weeks ago I was barely contemplating still being around for new year.

I’m sorry your having such a hard time and I admire you for continuing to work when you don’t feel great. Try and not worry and it’ll be sorted out on Friday. Merry Christmas.
