Tonight's LLS is a well urned tribute to Brendan Grace featuring old clips and people chatting and stuff

It was recorded ages ago as Tubs and Co have long since fecked off on their Christmas Jolllies

At this particular moment in time I have no information on whether the show will feature some, all or none of Brendan's Urns (The Big Ashes Urn or either of the Travel Ashes Urns)

On completion of tonight's show we will see the annual ceremonial launch of the TV Forum Christmas/New Year Replacement LLS Service thread

RTE know how to milk people for the ratings,, did they go to the trouble to give him a show when he was alive?

Yep but that never stopped them having the same guests on weeks apart (even when they're dead)

If tonights LLS is 99% Brendan Grace and 1% Tubridy i might last an entire late late for the first time in a decade.

Edit: if it turns into RTE canteen regulars talking about how they remember him, I'll be out of here faster than the bionic man on steroids.

"Should we get people in to pay tribute to Brendan Grace, or should we just do clip show and piss off early for Christmas?"

I thought Skid was joking in the OP

Tonight's show really IS a Brendan Grace tribute show!

    Why go through it again?

He had his fun, and that's all that matters.

We need to have an intervention about what appears to a James Corden Cat from Cats pic up above.

Have we not suffered enough WM ? :pac:

You wouldn't mind the Gay Byrne or Gerry Ryan tributes as they were so well known and iconic to RTE. Brendan Grace was an entertainer. They literally had his grieving family and ashes brought into the studio for one show, was that not tribute enough?

Is this how it's going to be from now on? Multiple Irish people as famous as Brendan Grace die every year. What happened is they saw the audience figures for the Gay Byrne show and they said they'd try it with Brendan Grace, absolutely disgusting.

By this logic we'll have to have one for Pat Kenny, Daniel O' Donnell, Twink (shudder), Bob Geldof, Brendan O' Carroll and so on.

Last week it was Shane MacGowan and he isn't even dead yet!

I don't really agree. Brendan was seriously popular in all parts of Ireland.

Tobin was probably more talented overall, with his acting especially. He wasn't as popular as Brendan though.

People nearly forget he started out as a singer and stumbled into comedy by accident.

The tearing the toy show tickets clip is played over and over, portrayed as some sort of sacrilege.

I don't get it. I have no interest in the toy show whatsoever and imagine many are the same.

He does play a good drunk in fairness.
