Their show after 10.00 pm has been a constant for me, going back to Richard Bacon, Tony Livesey and then Phil Williams, all excellent in their own way; but now we have someone called Sarah Brett...I'm really expecting more than someone with a few mates in the studio giggling for a couple of hours, has anyone else heard this drivel?

Must agree the show is pretty poor since Phil Williams left BBC Radio 5 Live. The present show just does not cut it IMHO.

I thought at first that Phil Williams had been off on holiday leave but then as there was no sign of him returning it seemed a very different type of show. I would tune in on weekends to Stephen Nolan although; I cannot understand why BBC Radio 5 Live would have serious phone-in discussions & guests Fri/Sat/Sun nights but a more trivial focused Sarah Brett show Monday-Thursday inclusive.

Just researched Phil Williams and I gather he has made his debut on sister radio station, BBC Radio 2 in November sitting in for OJ Borg on Radio 2 on a Friday morning slot from 12 midnight until 3am. Phil left BBC Radio 5Live last May after 18 years.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who has noticed this. Stephen Nolan is still excellent but as for the weeknight stuff...

I agree I do like Stephen, don't always agree with all his views but he is a very compelling presenter in my view and like yourself AwaitYourReply I always try to tune in at weekends to hear his show.
